Follow these procedures for the environment settings when using XL-DATA/MV between UNIX and IA servers.
- Connect the disk to the UNIX server (Solaris, HP-UX, Linux).
- Connect the disk to the IA server.
- Please perform the check shown below before creating the data transfer volume of XL-DATA/MV.
- When the file system is built on the object disk, the data of an object disk is deleted. Is it OK?
- Please check that the object disk is not used by other UNIX/IA servers.

- On the UNIX server, use the initialization command (mftfdvini) of the XL-DATA/MV to initialize the disk.
- On the IA server, execute the Disk Utility of the XL-DATA/MV to obtain the physical drive name of the disk.
- On the UNIX server, execute the initialization command (mftfdvalt) of the XL-DATA/MV to establish the relationship between the UNIX server and IA server.
- Execute the Disk Utility of the XL-DATA/MV on the IA server, then select the disk initialized by the command of the UNIX server.
