2.2.3 For IA Server <-> IA Server Transfers
Following these procedures for the environment settings when using XL-DATA/MV between IA servers.
- Connect the disk to both IA servers.
- Please perform the check shown below before creating the data transfer volume of XL-DATA/MV.
- When the file system is built on the object disk, the data of an object disk is deleted. Is it OK?
- Please check that the object disk is not used by other UNIX/IA servers.
- Please check that the object disk is not registered into /etc/vfstab of other UNIX servers.
- On one of the IA servers, execute the Disk Utility of XL-DATA/MV and initialize the target disk.
When performing this, omit the device name of the opposing IA server.
- On the other IA server, execute the Disk Utility of XL-DATA/MV, check the initialization contents of the data transfer volume, then record the physical device name of that device if it matches the device that was just initialized.
- On the IA server where the data transfer volume was initialized, specify the physical drive name you just recorded as the device of the opposing IA server, then reinitialize to establish the relationship between IA servers.
- Execute the Disk Utility of XL-DATA/MV on both IA servers, then select the corresponding device.
- On both IA servers, set the information required for XL-DATA/MV startup and data transfer.
- Start the XL-DATA/MV service in both IA servers.
