2.2.1 For UNIX Server <-> UNIX Server Transfers

Following these procedures for the environment settings when using XL-DATA/MV between UNIX servers.

• Connect the disk to each UNIX server (Solaris, HP-UX, Linux).
  
• Please perform the check shown below before creating the data transfer volume of XL-DATA/MV.
  
  • When the file system is built on the object disk, the data of an object disk is deleted. Is it OK?
  • Please check that the object disk is not used by other UNIX/IA servers.
  • Please check that the object disk is not registered into /etc/vfstab of other UNIX servers.
• Use the initialization command (mftfdvini) of the XL-DATA/MV and initialize the disk.
  
• Set the information required for XL-DATA/MV startup and data transfers.
  
• Start the XL-DATA/MV daemon on each UNIX server.
