4.3.2 Live Help System Behavior During Remote Control

Your mouse cursor remains an arrow while you share control of the Client's applications and desktop.

Once Remote Control has been started by one of the three methods mentioned above, your Remote Control button stays pressed and the Remote Control menu item remains checked as long as Remote Control is in progress. "Keyboard" displays next to your name in the session members list (choose Members from the SESSION menu), to indicate that you are sharing keyboard and mouse control of the Client's computer.

Remember that you are seeing an exact view of the Client's screen, and that your mouse movements and keystrokes take effect as if you are making the changes while sitting at the Client's computer.

Full screen view removes the title bar, scroll bars, and menus so you can see more of the Client's screen.

You can change from a windowed to a full screen view. When you switch to full screen, the Live Help window's title bar, scroll bars, and menus do not display. Refer to Screen Transfer for information about switching to a full screen view.

If you use your mouse outside of the Live Help window or minimize the window, your mouse movements and keystrokes are processed by your computer and are not sent to the Client.

Note

While Remote Control is in use, Live Help can take advantage of Microsoft's Intellimouse(R) technology. If both the Client and Support Specialist's computers are running operating systems compatible with this technology, you can use the mouse wheel to scroll up and down in documents.

During the session, the Client can also use the mouse and keyboard unless you have configured your system to disable the client keyboard and mouse during Remote Control. Refer to the section Setting Remote Control Options above.
