B.2.2.2 Cold swap

Cold replacement refers to the replacement mode in which a disk is replaced with system operation stopped.

  1. Before stopping system operation, confirm the location of the disk to be replaced such as by checking error messages.
  2. Replace the target disk.
    For information on how to mount a cold-swapped disk, see Section B.2.3.2, "Mounting a disk that has been cold-swapped after automatic unmounting," and Section B.2.3.4, "Mounting a disk that has been cold-swapped after unmounting by means other than GDS."
