Prior Confirmation
Check the following items before deleting an archive.
The Target Archive
Confirm that the target archive is in the "Creating", "Archived", "Creation Error", or "Deletion Error" state. If the state of the deletion target archive is not one of the above, refer to "4.3.2 Archive State" and take the necessary actions to change the state to "Archived". If there is an archive in the "Retrieval Error" state, perform a release operation for that archive in advance.
Archive storage period
Confirm that the storage period of the deletion target archive has passed the minimum storage period. The minimum storage period varies depending on the storage class where the archive is stored. Although you can delete an archive that has not passed the minimum storage period, you will be charged an early deletion fee by the cloud provider. Refer to the website of the cloud provider for details about the minimum storage period.
Note
The deletion process my take a few hours to be completed depending on the archive data amount.
When linking with the cloud backup script of ETERNUS SF AdvancedCopy Manager, the script cannot be executed between the start of and completion of the deletion process. The cloud backup script terminates with an error when executed during the period.
Procedure for Deleting an Archive
In CSG Web GUI, click Archive on the global pane.
The Archive list screen is displayed.
Click the radio button for the target archive and then click Delete in Action on the right.
The Confirm screen is displayed.
Confirm that it is safe to delete the displayed archive and then click Done.
Check the Archive list screen.
Confirm that the target archive is displayed with the "Deleting" state and wait until the deletion process of the archive is completed. After the process is completed, the target archive is deleted from the list.
