4.3.2 Archive State

Archive State

The state of normal archives transitions to one of the following.

State	Details
Creating	Creation process is in progress
Archived	Creation has been completed
Retrieving	Retrieval process is in progress
Readable	Retrieval has been completed (retrieved data can be read)
Releasing	Release process is in progress
Deleting	Deletion process is in progress

Archive Operations and Status Transition

Depending on the archive operation, the archive state transitions as follows:

If an error occurs during an archive operation, the archive state changes to one of the following.
If there are archives in the error state, new archives cannot be created or other normal archives cannot be operated. When there is an archive with the "Creation Error" state, the shared folder may not be accessible. Make sure to check the log of the operation that caused the error in the Logs panel and take the necessary actions according to the output message.
If the log of the operation that caused the error cannot be checked in the Logs panel, the service for creating an archive or the service for retrieving data from the archive may stop abnormally. Collect the troubleshooting data and contact our customer support department.

Creation Error	An error occurred during the creation process
Retrieval Error	An error occurred during the retrieval process
Release Error	An error occurred during the release process
Deletion Error	An error occurred during the deletion process

If an error occurs in the resource used for referencing the retrieved data after the state of the archive changes to "Readable", the state of the archive is one of the following. Read the content and take the necessary action.

State	Content and Action
Readable Warning	The storage pool, which is for the cache and archive operations used for retrieving data from the archive; the network between the cloud provider; or the cloud provider is in a state that requires attention. Notifications for the events corresponding to the state are sent. Check the event logs to take the appropriate action.
Readable Error	The storage pool, which is for the cache and archive operations used for retrieving data from the archive; the network between the cloud provider; or the cloud provider is in an abnormal state. Notifications for the events corresponding to the state are sent. Check the event logs to take the appropriate action.
Readable Unknown	Whether the retrieved data can be referenced is unknown. If this state persists and the archived shared folder stays inaccessible, the service for retrieving data from the archive may stop abnormally. Collect the troubleshooting data and contact our customer support department.

Note

When linking with the cloud backup script of ETERNUS SF AdvancedCopy Manager, you can execute the script only if the state of all the archives is "Archived". If there are archives in a state other than "Archived", the cloud backup script terminates with an error.
