Information
Regarding Limitation of Switchover Scopes
- The scope of configurations to be recovered on the switchover destination site can be limited by specifying either replication target storage pools or L-Servers outside the scope of switchover. For details on how to limit switchover scopes by specifying storage pools for replication, refer to "Figure 2.9 Limitation of switchover scope".
- When specifying the target storage pools to replicate, the following resources cannot be recovered to the switchover destination site.
- Disk resources or virtual storage resources registered in the storage pools which are not specified
- L-Servers using the storage in item 1
- Images using the storage in item 1
- L-Platforms which are only linked to the storage pools in item 1
- Tenants which are only linked to the storage pools in item 1
For details on how to specify storage pools, refer to "3.5 Configuring for Limiting Switchover Scope".

Resources degraded by the function for limiting switchover scope can be restored after failback. Refer to "Additional Recovery".

Additional Recovery |
Limited |
Not available when the configuration is for performing physical/virtual L-Server switchover (VM host/VM guest). |
Not limited |
|
The following conditions must be met to perform additional recovery.
- For additional recovery by tenant, failback of tenants to be restored is completed, from the switchover destination site to the switchover source site.
- For additional recovery of an entire site, failback of all tenants and global resources is completed, from the switchover destination site to the switchover source site.
- Disks used by L-Servers, L-Platforms, tenants, and image resources which are to be restored have not been deleted or unmounted from VM hosts and physical servers in the switchover source site.
- Disks used by L-Servers, L-Platforms, tenants, and image resources which are to be restored have not been reused in the switchover source site.
- Switchover information used at switchover is being stored in the additional recovery information folder.
For details on how to specify additional recovery information folders, refer to "3.3 Manager Installation and Configuration".
When additional recovery is planned after failback, it is recommended to save the switchover information in the additional recovery folder in advance. In case that the switchover information is corrupted in the switchover source site, copy the information from the switchover destination site to the switchover source site.
