11.3.9 Linking Resources Using the Physical Map and the Logical Map

The physical and logical resources can be linked at a resource level.

Point

The operations below can be performed in a short time.

  • Checking of the logical resources or L-Platforms affected by physical resources
The scope of affect can be easily checked when maintenance is scheduled.
The time for checking operations can be shortened, since the users affected can easily be determined from the contact list.

  • Checking of the physical resources on which a problem occurs using the logical resources in an L-Platform
When inquiries related to communication errors are received from users, the physical resource on which a problem has occurred can be easily specified using the logical resources in the L-Platform.
This enables shortening of the time taken to start problem resolution, and shortening of the time necessary for problem resolution.

11.3.9.1 Checking Related Logical Resources Using Physical Resources

This section explains the procedure to check the related logical resources using physical resources.

Information

When logical resources to which the "physical-logical relationship icon" is assigned in the network view (logical map) are displayed, if all of the following conditions are satisfied, the parent resources containing the target logical resources are automatically expanded.

  • The number of target logical resources for display is 50 or less.

  • Child resources of other resources are contained.

Operation Procedure Using the Network View (Physical Map) Icon

  1. Click the expand button ("▼") for the physical resources.

  2. Select the "physical-logical relationship icon" from the popup menu.
Check if the "physical-logical relationship icon" is assigned to the physical resource in the network view (physical map).

  3. Switch the network view from the physical view to the logical view.
For details on display switchover, refer to "11.3.3 Display Switchover of Network View (Physical View and Logical View)".

  4. The logical resource to which the "physical-logical relationship icon" is assigned in the network view (logical map) is the resource related to the physical resource.

Operation Procedure Using the Physical-Logical Relationship Icon Input Field of the Highlight Box of the Utility Panel (Custom View)

  1. Click [+] in the upper right of the Highlight box to display the window for setting highlighting options.

  2. Check the [Related Resources] checkbox and click [OK].
The input field of the physical-logical relationship icon is displayed.
