15.3.2 Establishing Live Help Sessions using Live Help Connection Manager

When you have made the Live Help Connection Manager computer known to TCP/IP users, you are ready to start a support session using the Live Help Connection Manager. Follow the steps below to have a support session.

  1. Start the Live Help Connection Manager.

    If the LiveHelp Connection Manager service is not started on the Live Help Connection Manager computer, start it.

  2. Start the Live Help Client program.

    Start the Live Help Client program with the following settings:

    • Communications Type: Support Centers

    • Support Center: Support TCP/IP

    Instead of the TCP/IP address, the Live Help user name of the Client appears at the top of the Client startup dialog box.

  3. Connect Live Help Expert program to the Client's support session.

    Start the Live Help Expert program and connect to the Client by specifying as follows:

    • Communications Type: Support Centers

    • Support Center: Support TCP/IP

    • Session to join: The Live Help user name of the Client (displayed in the Sessions in Progress field)
