The License management function is used for centralized management of the current License information of the enterprise and for understanding the availability of the software of License.
Through the License management function, the following operations can be achieved.

Detection of License violation PC, flexible execution of corrective operation
The following describes the operation method according to the operation flow to achieve flexible License management in Desktop Patrol.
Point
To perform License management, it’s needed to select the software to be managed by License in the screen of “settings of software auditing ”.
License Management by Desktop Patrol
It describes how to manage the License software purchased from the software supplier by Desktop Patrol.
Desktop Patrol provides detailed information of software license management by unit and confirms the functions allocated to each PC state.
Software License management can be fulfilled with Desktop Patrol by going through the following flow.
Sign the License Contract with the software supplier.
Keep the License Contract of the purchased software.
Define the signed software License in Desktop Patrol. Please refer to “Logon License Definition” for definition method.
It’s needed to log in License information to manage the software License defined in Item “3”. Please refer to “5.3.1.1 Register Current License Information” for log in the License information.
Allocate the current License to each PC. Please refer to “5.3.2 License Giving ” for License Giving method.
Confirm and Change Current License State with Desktop Patrol
Confirm the current state related to the purchased software License, or operate according to the following flow to change the current License number.
Confirm the current License state at that time. Please refer to relevant contents about “Current License Management” for current state confirmation.
Sign the License Contract with the software supplier as needed.
Keep the contract when signing the License Contract.
Register the License information of the signed contract in Desktop Patrol to change number of the current License. Refer to relevant contents of “5.3.1.2 Modify Information of Current License” for registration method.
Allocate Current License with Desktop Patrol
Operate according to the following flow to allocate the purchased software License.
Confirm allocation state of current License.

Please allocate current License to the PC as needed.
Please refer to “5.3.2 License Giving ” for method of License Giving.
Detect and Correct the License Violation PC with Desktop Patrol
Based on the collected Inventory information in Desktop Patrol, find the violation PC against current License.
Operate according to the following flow to find the violation PC. At the same time, explain the corrective method of License Giving.
Confirm the current License Giving state.
Please refer to “5.3.2 License Giving ” for method of allocation state of current License. Additionally, please refer to “5.3.4.1 Confirm License Violation PC” for detection method of violation PC.
Confirm number of current License after detection of violation PC.
According to the corrective treatment, sign the License contract with the software supplier and prepare the License to be allocated when it’s necessary to use the software.
Execution of the software can be prohibited if the software in unlawful use is an unwanted one. Please refer to “2.5 Control Executable file” for method of prohibition.
Keep the contract when signing the License Contract.
The signed License information will be registered in Desktop Patrol when number of the current License changes. Please refer to “5.3.1.2 Modify Information of Current License” for method of registration.
Allocate the current License to PC as needed.

Return License of Unwanted Software
Operate according to the following flow to return License of the unwanted software.
Confirm the redundant assets.
Please refer to “5.4.2.1 Confirm Idle Assets” for confirmation method of redundant assets.
Perform recovery and other kinds of disposal of the current License if there are redundant assets. Please refer to “5.4.2.2 Processing at Confirmation of Idle Assets” for treatment method.
License Change Going with Personnel Change
Operate according to the following flow when personnel changes happen.
Confirm the current License Giving status.
Please refer to “5.3.2 License Giving ” for confirmation method of allocation status of current License.
For PC managed by user of personnel change, take back License if the PC is allocated with License.
Please refer to “5.3.2 License Giving ” for method of License recovery.
Please change the user management information of the user of personnel change.
Please refer to “2.1.3 Procedure of Constructing Master Data” for change method of user management information.
Confirm current License status of the new section.
Please refer to “5.3.1 Management of Current License” for confirmation method of current status.
Sign License contract to the software supplier as needed.
Keep the contract after License contract is signed.
