Chapter 4 : UNIX/IA Server Data Transfers | > 4.1 Functions |
Since the XL-DATA/MV software limits user access for data transfer, XL-DATA/MV manages its own user verification.
Server System | Verification Method |
---|---|
UNIX/IA | The user name of the client system executing the transfer command must be registered in the .mftf user registration file of the UNIX/IA server system (mftf.ini file for Windows). If the specified user name is not registered when the user verification is performed during the actual data transfer, an error occurs. |
XL-DATA/MV usually performs user verification during the data transfer.
However, the settings of the UNIX/IA server can be adjusted to avoid the user verification step.
Refer to "Registering Data Transfer Users" for details on setting the user verification avoidance function.
For the UNIX server system, the account can be specified when executing the data transfer. File operations are performed according to the authority level of the specified account.
Specifying super-user level accounts such as root can overwrite the data of the target file regardless of the file's permission level; therefore, be careful when specifying a super-user account.
For the IA server system, file operations are always performed with the account authority of the local system.
If the upper directory does not exist when creating a new file in the data transfer to the UNIX server system, the directory is also created.
In this case, the permission level of the new directory cannot be set; it is fixed at 755. However, file permissions can be specified as desired.
This is done by setting the umask value for each user name of the XL-DATA/MV client system.
The default value of umask is 133. Permission is required to use the filter command for creating directories. You can change this if necessary.
The owner of the new file or directory is the account specified when the above data transfer is executed.
The permission is not changed when writing to an existing file.
Refer to "Registering Data Transfer Users" for more details.
