4.1.9 The Messaging Function of the UNIX/IA Server System

The XL-DATA/MV daemon/service of the UNIX/IA server system has a function for outputting messages to the event log or console by the specification of the user.
Output of the following message categories may be independently specified.

• Completion message output
  Output messages for normal or warning completion of the process on the UNIX/IA server system.
  
• Error message output
  Output messages for abnormal termination of the process on the UNIX/IA server system.
  

To use the message output function, specify the option when starting the daemon/service of XL-DATA/MV.
Refer to the following for the specification methods since it varies for each server system.

• For UNIX server system, refer to "Starting the Daemon".
• For IA server system, refer to "Creating the Start Mode Specification File".
