2.6.1.2 Creating the Start Mode Specification File

The start mode specification file must be created when the server system is an IA server (Windows) and when specifying options during the XL-DATA/MV startup.

The following is an example:

-t

The option for specifying the output of a completion message.
When a data transfer completes successfully or completes with a warning in the Server System, a completion message is output to the event log.
Note that this message only refers to the data transfer on the Server System side and does not indicate completion on the Client System.
If this option is omitted, this message is not output.

-m

The option for specifying the output of an error message.
In the event of an error in the UNIX/IA server, an error message is output to the event log.
If this option is omitted, even if an error occurs in the Server System, no message is output to the event log when the Client System is notified of the error.
However, a message is output if the error could not be sent to the Client System.

Use the following rules to create the start mode specification file:

• Create a file called "startup.ini" in the folder where the XL-DATA/MV is installed.
  
• Up to 256 characters can be entered per line.
  
• Comments begin with # and continue to the end of the line.
  
• When specifying more than two options, enter at least one space between each option.
  
• If the above rules are violated, an error occurs.
  
• Only the first line can be used for options. Everything after the second line is disregarded.
  

Modifying the startup.ini file:

The file can be modified at any time. The changes take effect after saving the modified file and restarting the service.
