The UNIX/IA Server environment settings require the following three settings:
| Environment Settings | Target Server |

| Register the data transfer user | The UNIX/IA server that runs the daemon or service. |
| Create the start mode specification file | The IA server that runs the service. |
| Create the filter command return code conversion file | The UNIX/IA server that runs the daemon or service, as well as the filter command. |
| Set the data transfer environment settings file | The UNIX/IA server that starts the data transfer command, daemon, or service. |
