The possible causes of an error that occurs in a disk may not only be a disk failure but also a failure or defect of a hardware component such as an adapter, a cable, and a controller. Check the event log and other relevant information to pinpoint the faulty part on the hardware.

With the boot disk, replace the failed disk or component with another and then restore the backup data. For more information on restore, see "Restoring the Boot Disk."

With a data disk, unset the mirroring configuration of group and then replace the failed disk or component with another, set the mirroring configuration again, and restore the backup data. For more information on restore, see "Data Disk Backup and Restore."
