A.6.4 Changing Server Configuration

mark1What is a procedure for adding new directors?

The procedure for starting new directors is as follows:

  1. Set up the newly add directors and searchers.

    Refer to Installation and Setup with Additional Director Servers in the Installation Guide for more information on how to set up the director servers.

  2. Edit the system environment file of the director server, which the conductor is located, then, distribute it to all servers. The following parameters have to be added when editing the system environment file.

  3. Execute the shunsysstart command on the search servers and the director servers to start the searchers and the directors.

  4. If the Shunsaku File is used, edit the conductor environment file of the director, which the conductor is located. The following execution parameters have to be added when editing the conductor environment file.

  5. Execute the shunsyscfgedit command on the director server where the conductor is located.

  6. Execute the shundservice command to register the director into the service.

Refer to Adding Directors and Director Servers in the Operator's Guide for more information on how to add the directors.

Re-estimate the server resource such as the amount of memory use and confirm that server resource is sufficient when adding directors and searchers in the same server.
