Chapter 3 Collecting Troubleshooting Information> 3.2 Collecting Requisite Information

3.2.5 User's Operation Record

The user's operation record is the information for understanding the actual operation procedure, error message, etc.

mark1Collecting User's Operation Record

Follow the procedure below to collect the user's operation record.

  1. Identify the operation that an error event has occurred, or the operation that is a cause of an error (application and command) on the terminal screen.
  2. Save a job flow of the identified operation from the starting point until the ending point or the ending point of the error into the text file.

If an error message is output on the screen, collect that error message.

Collect the operation log of both normal execution and abnormal execution if they can be identified.

If the log collecting mechanism by application is provided when a problem occurs during the operation, collect that log.

If there is no user's operation record, collect the operations (applications and commands) information up to when the error has occurred as much as possible.
