Chapter 8 HA Functions> 8.4 Director Server Failovers Using PRIMECLUSTER

8.4.6 Setting Up Shunsaku

When installation of Shunsaku on each server in the cluster configuration is complete, set up Shunsaku.

The procedure for setting up Shunsaku is explained below:

mark1Setting up Shunsaku on Search Servers

The procedure for setting up search servers is the same as for normal (non-cluster) systems.

Refer to Installation and Setup with Additional Search Servers in the Installation Guide for more information on the setup procedure.

mark1Editing and Distributing the System Environment File

For the director server where the conductor is located, the system environment file has been edited in 8.4.3 Installing Shunsaku. Therefore, ensure that the system environment file has been changed appropriately.

For additional director servers, add the following execution parameters to the system environment file:

[Table 8-3 Execution Parameters for Additional Director Servers]

Execution parameter

Meaning

Explanation

Director

Server information for the director

Adds director information for the additional director server.

Searcher

Server information for the searcher

Adds searcher information for the additional search server.

Set the inherited IP address determined in 8.4.1 Making Preliminary PRIMECLUSTER Settings for the host name or IP address in the Director parameter that indicates the location of the director.

Distribute the system environment file to the /etc/opt/FJSVshnsk/etc/system directory on each server. Also, ensure that the content of the /etc/services file on the standby server is the same as the content of the distributed system environment file.

mark1Editing the Director Environment File

Operation log files must be stored on the shared disk. Specify the storage directory for operation log files created and specified in the OperationLogFolder parameter in the director environment file in 8.4.4 Creating an Area for Storing Operation Log Files. For additional director servers, this operation has already been performed in 8.4.3 Installing Shunsaku, and so this operation needs to be performed only when setting up the director server where the conductor is located. Perform this operation on the active server.

If director data files and operation log files are damaged at the same time, the latest data cannot be recovered.

To minimize this risk, specify different shared disks for the locations of operation log files and the director data files.

mark1Copying Environment Files

For each environment file, the same settings must be used for the active server and the standby server.

When setting up Shunsaku on the director server where the conductor is located, copy the following environment files from the active server to the standby server:

When setting up additional director servers, copy the following environment file from the active server to the standby server:

If the direct access function is used, the direct access key definition file also has to be copied.
