K.1.3 Copying Method for Data Disk (GDS)

Determines how to copy the disks that are registered in a local class or a shared class of GDS.

The disks registered in local or shared classes of GDS can be copied by one of the following methods:

When making the GDS configuration of the copy destination the same as the configuration of the copy source
When making the GDS configuration of the copy destination different from the configuration of the copy source
(For example, if the source and destination disk sizes are different, or if the source is a shared disk and the destination is the mirroring among servers)

Take the following steps to copy it.

  1. Backing up the GDS Configuration Information on the copy source system ("K.4.3 Copying Disk Data")

  2. Deleting and setting the GDS configuration on the copy destination system ("K.5.5 Setting up in Single-User Mode," "K.5.7.1 Deleting the GDS Configuration Information," and "K.5.7.3 Setting up GDS and Restoring the Data")

  3. Restoring data to the copy destination volume( "K.5.7.3 Setting up GDS and Restoring the Data")
