6.2.6 Managing Fibre Channel Switch That Has Already Set in Port Zoning

One-to-one WWPN zoning setting is recommended in this software to realize the complete zoning security management as described in "4.2.1 Brocade Fibre Channel Switch", though port zoning is possible to be performed. The procedure to change into one-to-one WWPN zoning setting is as follows:

  1. Confirm that all the monitored devices are connected with all the switch ports.

  2. Change the "sanma.conf" file. Refer to "A.2 sanma.conf Parameter" and specify 1 in "SET_SW_ZONING_ALWAYS".

Either perform an update to the setting file using Web Console or restart Manager to reflect the content of this file.

  3. Execute the storageadm zone command on the Management Server to add an access path corresponding to the port zoning.

  4. After the access path has been added, perform the Reload Conf. operation for the target Fibre Channel switch on Web Console. Then, confirm on Web Console that the WWPN zoning is displayed which has the same information as the port zoning, and delete the specified port zoning.

    Note

For the multiple ports zoning setting, do not delete the multiple ports zoning until WWPN zoning corresponding to each port zoning.

  5. Repeat the procedure from steps 3 to 4.

  6. If necessary, return the setting that is executed in step 2 to the former setting.

To change the zoning setting can be also executed in zone administration window in WEBTOOLS in Fibre Channel switch and by CLI.
