4.5 NetApp FAS Series, FAS Series (with clustered Data ONTAP), and AFF series Network Disk Storage System

This software supports fault management and linkage to the Management Software for NetApp FAS Series, and AFF series. Embed a device and register its IP address by referring to "5.2.7 Registering Manually Embedded Device". This software decodes SNMP Traps that are sent from a device and displays them.

  1. Connecting to the network

At the device, perform the network connection settings to connect to the network. Refer to the manuals of the device for details on how to perform it.

  2. Activating SNMP

Enable the SNMP function so that device information can be acquired using SNMP. Refer to the manuals of the device for details on how to enable it.

The device polling function uses SNMP to acquire the device status of the NetApp FAS Series. If the SNMP Community name is default, this software uses the Community name "public." However, it is also possible to specify the Community name. It is possible to change the Community name this software uses for a device from Web Console.

  3. SNMP Trap setting

Perform the setup of the SNMP Trap transmission destination for the device so that SNMP Traps of the device can be transmitted to the Management Server. If the Management Server is operated in a cluster configuration, set the logical IP address of the cluster as the destination.

  4. Management software linkage

Use the management software provided for device to check the detailed device status and manage the various settings of the device. The management software can be called directly from Web Console. In advance, setup the following address as the management software on Web Console. The ipAddress is the IP address of the device.

    "http:/ipAddress/na_admin/"
