5.2.7 Registering Manually Embedded Device

Some devices (such as Managed Servers without an agent, tape units, ETERNUS AX/HX series, ETERNUS AB/HB series, and NAS devices) cannot be retrieved by device search. Register these devices with this software by using the manual embedding function.

Point

  • The ETERNUS AX/HX series, ETERNUS AB/HB series, NetApp FAS Series, NetApp FAS Series (with clustered Data ONTAP), and NetApp AFF series are registered as "Other" for the storage type during the registration.

  • For the manually embedded device that is registered as "Other" for the storage type, "Unknown" is displayed in the Storage Type field on the device details screen. Refer to "Display Storage Device" in the Web Console Guide for information about how to display the device details screen.

In the case of ETERNUS AX/HX series, ETERNUS AB/HB series, NetApp FAS Series(with clustered Data ONTAP), and NetApp AFF series

Specify the following product type at registration.

The registered operation mode can be viewed on Main pane of the Detail screen.
