10.9 Start/Stop Beacon

Note

  • The beacon can be operated only with FC switches that are using the SNMPv1 protocol.

  • In order to start/stop beacon, it is necessary to set the Write-direction SNMP community name of the FC switch to the ETERNUS SF system. When the device is registered to the ETERNUS SF system, "private" is set by default. If the Write-direction SNMP community name of the FC switch is not "private", refer to "10.4 Change FC Switch Information" to change the SNMP Community Name(Write).

  • Before operating the beacon, execute the snmpConfig command of the FC switch and check that SNMP SET Security Level is "No security". If SNMP SET Security Level is not "No security", re-execute the snmpConfig command and set SNMP SET Security Level to "No security". Refer to the manuals of the target FC switch for details.

The procedure to start/stop the FC switch beacon is as follows:

  1. On the global navigation tab, click Network.
The registered FC switch list is displayed on the Main pane.

  2. On the Main pane, check the target FC switch checkbox.

  3. Perform the following procedures according to the operation purpose.

    For Starting of Beacon

The information confirmation screen is displayed.

    2. Confirm the information, and then click Start.

    For Stopping of Beacon
    1. On the Action pane, click Beacon (Stop) under Beacon.
The information confirmation screen is displayed.

    2. Confirm the information, and then click Stop.
