7.10 When Recovering Storage Cluster Continuous Copy Function

In a state where either the Primary Storage or Secondary Storage is stopped, if the copy is started or stopped, there may be times when the Primary Storage or Secondary Storage sessions are not synchronized.

Take measures after confirming the Advanced Copy status and the Storage Cluster Continuous Copy Session status.
The methods for confirming and dealing with the Advanced Copy status and the Storage Cluster Continuous Copy Session status are shown below.

Point

  • In the case of the replication management function commands, this operation cannot be executed in relation to storage where the TFO status is "Standby". For this reason, when performing operations on the storage where the TFO status is "Standby", use the commands of the AdvancedCopy Manager Copy Control Module function.

  • If the command is executed in a state where the session of the Primary Storage and the Secondary Storage are not synchronized, the swsrp0740 message (error code: 103) may be output. If this message is output, after forcibly stopping the copy with one of the following methods, then take action with "Table 7.3 Corrective Action":

    • For using command
Specify the storage device where the TFO status is "Standby" with the -a option and forcible cancel the copy by the accopy fcancel command. Refer to "Command References" in the AdvancedCopy Manager Operation Guide for Copy Control Module for information on the command.

    • For using Web Console
Refer to "Display/Forcible Suspend/Forcible Cancel Copy Session" in the Web Console Guide, and forcible cancel the copy.

Advanced Copy status and Standby-Side Continuous Copy Session status

  1. Confirm the status of the Standby-Side Continuous Copy Session.

    • When checking by command
      Check using the swsrpstat command.
The Standby-Side Continuous Copy Session status can be confirmed from the Standby-Session column.

    • When confirming from Web Console
Refer to "Create/Display/Change/Delete Replication Group" in the Web Console Guide, and display the replication group. The Standby-Side Continuous Copy Session status can be confirmed from the Storage Cluster Standby Copy Session column.

  2. Confirm the status of the Active-Side Continuous Copy Session from the storage device where the TFO status is "Standby".

    • When checking by command
Check using the accopy query command. Refer to "Command References" in the AdvancedCopy Manager Operation Guide for Copy Control Module for information on the command.
Specify the storage device where the TFO status is "Standby" with the -a option and execute the command. The Active-Side Continuous Copy Session status can be confirmed from the TFO Info column displayed when specifying the -tfoinfo option.
Refer to "When Recovering Storage Cluster Continuous Copy Function" in the AdvancedCopy Manager Operation Guide for Copy Control Module for details.

    • When confirming from Web Console
Refer to "Display/Forcible Suspend/Forcible Cancel Copy Session" in the Web Console Guide, and display the Copy Session. Active-Side Continuous Copy Session status can be confirmed from the Storage Cluster/Session Status column.

Countermeasures

Countermeasures are shown below.

Continuous Copy Session Status

Action

  • readying

  • snap

When the Standby-Session column for the swsrpstat command, or the Storage Cluster Standby copy session column for Web Console is "not-exist".

Execute the swsrpmake command.

When taking measures on Web Console, refer to "Start OPC/QuickOPC/SnapOPC/SnapOPC+" in the Web Console Guide, and start the copy.

  • sync

  • equivalent

When the Standby-Session column for the swsrpstat command, or the Storage Cluster Standby copy session column for Web Console is "not-exist".

  1. Execute the swsrpmake command to temporarily suspend EC (Suspend).

  2. Execute the swsrpstartsync command to resume EC.

When taking measures on Web Console, refer to "Suspend EC" and "Start/Resume EC" in the Web Console Guide, and to temporarily suspend/resume copying.

replicated

When the Standby-Session column for the swsrpstat command, or Storage Cluster Standby copy session column for Web Console is "not-exist".

  1. Execute the swsrpstartsync command to resume EC.

  2. Execute the swsrpmake command to temporarily suspend EC (Suspend).

When taking measures on Web Console, refer to "Start/Resume EC" and "Suspend EC" in the Web Console Guide, and to temporarily resume /suspend copying.

failed

When the Standby-Session column for the swsrpstat command, or Storage Cluster Standby copy session column for Web Console is "not-exist".

  1. Execute the swsrpcancel command, and stop the copy.

  2. Execute the swsrpmake command or the swsrpstartsync command, and start the copy.

When taking measures on Web Console, refer to "Stop OPC/QuickOPC/SnapOPC/SnapOPC+" and "Start OPC/QuickOPC/SnapOPC/SnapOPC+", or "Stop EC" and "Start/Resume EC" in the Web Console Guide, and to temporarily stop/resume copying.

----

When the TFO Info column for the accopy query command, or the Storage Cluster/Session Status column for Web Console is "unpaired".

  1. Specify the storage device where the TFO status is "Standby" with the -a option and forcibly cancel the copy sessions with the accopy fcancel command. Refer to "Command References" in the AdvancedCopy Manager Operation Guide for Copy Control Module for information on the command.

  2. Execute the swsrpmake command or the swsrpstartsync command, start the copy.

When taking measures on Web Console, refer to "Display/Forcible Suspend/Forcible Cancel Copy Session" and "Start OPC/QuickOPC/SnapOPC/SnapOPC+", or "Start/Resume EC" in the Web Console Guide, and to temporarily forcible cancel/resume copying.
