11.1.3 Set Security Auditing

This section describes how to set security auditing.

The procedure for setting security auditing is as follows:

Perform this setting by the system administrator. The section administrator need not set.

  1. On CS, click Start > All Programs > Systemwalker Desktop Patrol > Environment Setup > Management Ledger Settings, or Apps > Systemwalker Desktop Patrol > Management Ledger Settings.

    The Management Ledger Settings window will be displayed

  2. Select the Set Security Auditing tab.

    The following window will be displayed

  3. Set security auditing schedule and auditing result saving period.

    Set the following information and click the OK button.

    The information is set.

    On Demand Security Audit

    Selected when not starting security auditing by schedule.

    Scheduled Security Audit
    (Initial Value)

    Selected when starting security auditing by schedule.

    Scheduler Setting

    Execution Date

    Set the date for performing security auditing.

    Single-byte numbers only can be set.

    Start Time

    Set time for performing security auditing.

    Rectification Period

    Set number of days of rectification period.

    Single-byte numbers from 0 to 6 can be set. When 0 is specified, the rectification period does not exist, and the security auditing is performed only on the date set by schedule.

    Set rectification period as one excluding the startup date (number of days).

    For example, when specifying as starting on the first day of each month and setting rectification period as 5 days, it will be started during the first day to the sixth day of each month.

    Besides, the execution date and rectification period should be specified in the same month.

    Retention Period for Auditing Result

    Select the auditing result saving period from the following options.

    • 3 months

    • 6 months

    • 1 year

    The initial value is 6 months.

    Set the auditing result saving period as one excluding this month. For example, if the retention period is set as 3 months, and it is July 15th currently, the auditing result of April, May and June will be reserved.

    The auditing result exceeding the retention period will be deleted automatically.
