Chapter 5 Request Management

Cloud Services Management requires the approval process when operations of the following resources are performed:

A request is submitted after the addition, modification and deletion of a resource. The status of a request changes depending on the operations of the requester and approvers, and the status of reflection within the system, as described below.

Figure 5.1 Changes in Request Status

Point

The underlined text in the diagram indicates request operations, and the squares indicate request statuses.

The operations in the diagram indicate the following:

  • Request: A request is submitted after the addition, modification and deletion of a resource.

  • Approval, final approval: Approvals are granted multiple times according to the conditions.

  • Rejected: When the details of a request are not appropriate, an approver rejects the request.

  • Cancel: During waiting processing, the requester can perform the cancel operation.

The statuses in the diagram indicate the following:

  • Waiting Processing: Indicates the status before approvers approve a request. The status becomes waiting processing until the final approval is granted.

  • Rejected: Indicates that an approver rejected the request.

  • Cancel: Indicates that the request has been canceled.

  • Approved: Indicates that the final approval has been granted.

  • Failed: Indicates that an error occurred during reflection on the system after approval.

The request management function is used to manage requests which occur in response to each operation related to a resource.

This chapter explains how to operate requests in the Cloud Management Portal.
