7.7.1 Comparing from the File System Sub-window

The following is a quick summary of the steps used to compare a file, folder or drive selected in the local and remote file system sub-window.

1. In the remote file system sub-window, use the mouse or the arrow keys to navigate to the location where the file, folder or drive you want to compare is can be found.

2. In the file list, select the file, folder or drive you want to compare. The selected file, folder or drive is highlighted.

3. In the local file system sub-window, select the file, folder or drive you want to compare in the file list. The selected file, folder or drive is highlighted.

4. Select the Compare menu item from the FILE menu or click the Compare button . A Compare progress dialog box will show the progress of the compare operation.

   Note

   If you want to include subfolders (in the case of folder compares) or folders (in the case of drive compares) in the compare operation, select the Include Subfolders menu item from the OPTIONS menu.

5. When the Compare operation is complete, the results of the compare are displayed in the Compare Result sub-window as shown below.
