4.6.1 CTRL+ALT+DEL

This function works differently depending on the operating system on which the Live Help Client program is running.

Note

While you are in a support session where other Help Desk Personnel are participating, you can also send the CTRL+ALT+DEL keys to another Support Specialist's computer if his/her Live Help Expert program is configured to allow the CTRL+ALT+DEL keys. If the Live Help Expert program is configured to not allow the CTRL+ALT+DEL keys, this feature is not available and the menu item will be grayed out. Refer to the section Allow CTRL+ALT+DEL When Remote Controlled in Changing Your Live Help Expert Configuration for more information.

You can send the CTRL+ALT+DEL keys to the Welcome to Windows(R) dialog box to log on to the Client computer. You can also send the CTRL+ALT+DEL keys after logging on.

Note

  • If the connection destination is one of the following operating systems, the software Secure Attention Sequence in the connection destination must be enabled:

    • Windows Vista or later

    • Windows Server 2008 or later

  • The setting procedure is shown below.

    1. From 'Start' or 'Apps' >> 'Run', execute gpedit.msc.

    2. In 'Local Group Policy Editor' that is displayed, select 'Computer Configuration' >> 'Administrative Templates' >> 'Windows Components' >> 'Windows Logon Options'. Then, on the right hand side of the window, double-click 'Disable or enable software Secure Attention Sequence'.

    3. In the 'Disable or enable software Secure Attention Sequence' settings window that is displayed, select the 'Enabled' radio button, then select 'Services' or 'Services and Ease of Access applications' from the drop-down menu in the bottom left hand side of the window, and then click 'OK'.

    4. Close 'Local Group Policy Editor'.

If the connection destination is Remote Operation Client of Systemwalker Centric Manager V15.0.1 or earlier, Systemwalker Desktop Patrol Remote Operation Client, or Systemwalker Live Help Client, this function cannot be used for the following operating systems:

If the CTRL+ALT+DEL keys must be entered in the logon window, use the following method to start the screen keyboard, and then enter the keys:

  1. Click Ease of Access button displayed at the bottom-left corner of the logon screen.

  2. Select the Type without the keyboard (On-Screen Keyboard) checkbox in the Ease of Access dialog box.

  3. Click OK. On-Screen Keyboard will appear on the screen.

Note

  • At screens other than the logon screen, such as Desktop, you can not enter the CTRL+ALT+DEL keys. If you type the CTRL+ALT+DEL keys using On-Screen Keyboard, Windows Vista or later / Windows Server 2008 or later will ignore the keys. This behavior does not relate to the Live Help or remote operation.

  • When User Account Control (UAC) function of Windows Vista or later / Windows Server 2008 or later is disabled (At Windows 7 or later, Windows Server 2008 R2 or later, it is "Never Notify"), you cannot enter the CTRL+ALT+DEL keys using On-Screen Keyboard. This is a specification of these versions of the operating system.
Therefore, when the connection destination is Remote Operation Client of Systemwalker Centric Manager V15.0.1 or earlier, Systemwalker Desktop Patrol Remote Operation Client, or Systemwalker Live Help Client, you cannot enter the CTRL+ALT+DEL keys from Live Help Expert/Monitor to remotely log on to a computer installed with Windows Vista or later / Windows Server 2008 or later on which the User Account Control (UAC) function is disabled.
In this case, to remotely log on, change to one of the following settings:

    • Enable the User Account Control (UAC) function. OR...

    • Disable CTRL+ALT+DEL requirement for logon.

Information

You can disable CTRL+ALT+DEL requirement for logon with the following steps.

  1. Start one of the following Control Panel applets from Administrative Tools in Control Panel.

    • Domain Controller Security Policy

    • Domain Security Policy

    • Local Security Policy

  2. Open the option "Interactive logon: Do not require CTRL+ALT+DEL" in "Local Policies" / "Security Options".

  3. Enable the option.

Refer to your Windows(R) User's Guide for further information.
