The group can be operated as necessary. There are 8 types of operations (cancel, start, restart, pause, continue, disable, enable and confirm).
The following describes how to operate the groups (three methods) and types of operations.
Before operating any group, it is possible to prevent any operational errors from occurring by displaying the dialog box to confirm the operation. For details on setting, see "7.10 Preventing Operational Errors on Job Nets, Jobs and Groups".
Procedure (three types)
Select the desired group from the Gantt Chart window. Then, select the desired operation item from the Schedule Operation of the File menu (or select the desired operation item from the Operation pop-up menu displayed by right-clicking).
Select the desired group from the Job Selection window of the Systemwalker Operation Manager window. Then, select the desired operation item from the Schedule Operation of the File menu (or select the desired operation item from the Operation pop-up menu displayed by right-clicking).
Select the desired group from the Group Management window. Then, select the desired operation item from the Operation of the File menu (or select the desired operation item from the Operation pop-up menu displayed by right-clicking). It is possible to select and operate multiple operation items simultaneously.
Operation types
The types of the group operations are as follows.
Cancels the group being executed or in the warning status. All the job nets being executed or in the warning status will be canceled. The job nets which have not been executed as they do not satisfy the execution conditions will remain in the waiting status.
If the canceled groups are newly scheduled, they will be in the waiting status.
Starts the group immediately. Among the execution conditions for the job nets in the group started with the startup operation, the conditions other than the normal completion of the preceding job net will be ignored. Therefore, the job net will be started immediately after the preceding job net is normally completed. The job net configuration at the group startup is as follows depending on the group status.
The group will be started from the beginning with the job net configuration of the completed group.
The group will be started with the job net configuration of the scheduled group. In this case, the group will not be started again at the originally-scheduled startup time.
The group will be started with all the job net configurations in the group. In this case, this group will be able to be monitored in the Monitor Group window.
Restarts the group when it has been abended due to the abended job net in the group or canceled during the previous execution. When restarted, execution will be started from the abended or canceled job net and the group will be in the executing status. If no abended or canceled job net exist, execution will be started from the waiting job nets which satisfy the execution conditions. The execution conditions of the job nets in the restarted group vary as follows, depending on the conditions of the previous execution of the group.
The normal completion of the preceding job net, the startup time and the message event waiting will be valid.
Only the normal completion of the preceding job net will be valid.
Pauses the group. The paused group cannot be executed even if the execution conditions are satisfied.
Cancels the paused status of the group. The group will resume the status before the pause operation (if newly scheduled, however, the group will be in the waiting status). If the execution conditions are satisfied while the pause of the group is being, the group will be started after resuming.
Disables the group. The disabled group is considered to be completed pseudo-normally and will not be executed even if the execution conditions are satisfied.
Cancels the disabled status of the group. The group will resume the status before the disable operation (if newly scheduled, however, the group will be in the waiting status). If it was in the paused status before the disable operation, it resumes the status before pausing. Or, if it was in the abended or canceled status before the disable operation, it changes to the completed status. If the execution conditions are satisfied while the job net is being disabled, the group will be in the completed status after enabling.
Brings the group which have been abended or canceled at the previous execution to the confirmed status. Confirmation is enabled when Validate group confirmation is selected in the Advanced Settings for Verification window. When the Validate group confirmation option is selected, no scheduling will be executed for the group in the abended status at the day change time or the startup time of the server beyond the day change time. After confirmation is carried out for the abended group, the scheduling for the current day will be executed at the day change time or the startup time of the server beyond the day change time.
Note that to enable verification with respect to canceled groups, it is necessary to select Check canceled as well as Validate group confirmation in the Advanced Settings for Verification window.
Information
All of the job nets/groups in a project can be Paused / Continued / Disabled / Enabled simultaneously on the per-project basis. For details, see "7.2 Batch Process of Job Nets/Groups".
Relationship between group status and operations
The following shows the operations that can/cannot be carried out for each group status.
The pseudo-normal status is the status of the group which includes any job net of the pseudo-normal status. If job nets in the pseudo-normal status and the abended status exist in the same group, the group will be in the abended status.
If the pseudo-normal status is not validated in the Use function1 sheet of the Define Jobscheduler Startup Parameters window, the pseudo-normal will be indicated as the normal completion.
In the warning status, any job net in the warning, abended or canceled status exists in the group but the group has not been completed yet.
The group will remain in the warning status even if the job nets are not in the warning, abended or canceled status any more after restart.
Point
Starting groups
When you start up a group, it is operated as follows.
If no job net of the group is scheduled to start today, all job nets registered in this group are started.
Otherwise, only the job nets of the group scheduled to start today are started. If you try to start a group before its scheduled time, the group is considered to have already started up, and the group is not started at the scheduled time of the day. Note that a group can be started up any number of times in a day.
If you tried to "start up" a group, the job nets registered in the group start without waiting for a occurrence of message events or the scheduled time.
For group startup details, see "14.1.7 Group Operations and Actions."
Note
Operating groups including job nets with the Interstage attribute
If a group, in which any job net with the Interstage attribute is in execution, is canceled, the job net with the Interstage attribute in execution will be normally completed (completion code: 0) and no succeeding job net will be executed. The group will be in the canceled status.
