4.1.2 Layering Job Nets

Job nets can be registered as jobs in other job nets. Registering a job net in another job net is referred to as "layering." The job net where another job net has been registered is referred to as the "parent job net," and a job net registered in the parent job net is referred to as a "child job net."

In layered job nets, the layer depth is expressed as the n-th layer. There can be as many as 5 layered job nets.

There is limit to the number of jobs that can be registered in a layer. For more details, see the "Maximum Values for Job Scheduling" section in the Systemwalker Operation Manager Technical Guide.

By setting up startup days for child and linked job nets, the job net configuration can be changed for each operating day. To set up startup days for child and linked job nets, select the Valid only on startup days check box in the Control information sheet of the Add/Change - Job window, in addition to the normal procedure for specifying startup days for job nets that is performed on child job nets and master linked job nets. Refer to "4.2.4 Registering Jobs" and "4.2.3 Registering Job Nets" for details on the setup procedure. Also, refer to "4.1.3 Linked Job Nets" for information on linked job nets and master linked job nets.
