You can set whether to operate power control for server. When operating power control, whether to operate power control for a single host or in a batch must be defined. To operate batch power control, information on the controlling host and the control target host must also be specified.
Note
Before setting power control method, confirm that the day change time is set appropriately for the operation. For details on setting day change time, see "2.2 Setting Up Day Change Time".
Use the following procedure to set power control method.
Procedure
Displaying the Power Control Setting window
Select SYSTEM_CALENDAR from the Job Selection window of the Systemwalker Operation Manager window, then select Power Control Setting from the Options menu. The Power Control Setting window will appear.

When a new Systemwalker Operation Manager is first installed, "Disable the power control" for the UNIX system or "Control the power for this computer only" for the Windows system is set by default.
Specifying power control method
Specify the power control method.
Use this option when not operating power control. Click OK. No additional operation is needed.
Use this option when operating power control for a single host computer. Click OK. When this option is selected, then power schedule must also be set. For details, see "3.3 Power On/Off Scheduling".
Use this option when operating batch power control and registering the local server as the controlling host which manages batch power control schedule. Checking this option button enables the Set the Specify Controlled Host button. When this option is selected, set power schedule after performing the operations of procedure 3 and later. For details, see "3.3 Power On/Off Scheduling".
Use this option when operating batch power control and registering the local server as a power control target host which is controlled by the controlling host. Checking this option button enables the Power Control Host Name entry field. Specify name of the controlling host which manages batch power control schedule, then click OK. When using this option, confirm that the power schedule is appropriately set on the controlling host side. For details, see "3.3 Power On/Off Scheduling".
Displaying the Power Control Target Hosts window
When the Use this computer as a power control host option button is checked, click the Specify Controlled Host button. The Power Control Target Hosts window will appear.

Displays the list of hosts targeted for power control. When no host is registered as power control target, nothing is displayed.
Power on is executed in the order of the list after the controlling host is turned on. Power off is executed in the opposite order of the list, then the controlling host is turned off.
Adds hosts to be targeted for power control. Clicking the Add button displays the Power Control Target Host Setup window. Up to 10 hosts can be specified as the power control targets. The newly-added hosts appear at the far bottom of the list.
Changes the setting for the power control target hosts. Clicking the Modify button displays the Power Control Target Host Setup window.
Deletes the power control target host name from the list.
Moves up the power control target host in the list.
Moves down the power control target host in the list.

Clicking the Add button in the Power Control Target Hosts window displays the Power Control Target Host Setup window.

Setting power control target host information
Set the following items.
Specifies the name of the host targeted for batch power control.
Specifies the interval between startup of one control target host and startup of the next host.
Specifies the interval between shutdown of one control target host and shutdown of the next host.
Specifies the power control software used for automatic startup and shutdown of the computer.
PowerChutePLUS (APC product):
Select this option to use "PowerChute(R) plus" or "PowerChute(R) Business Edition" as the power control software.
Other (PowerControl for Systemwalker):
Use this option to use any power control software which is compatible with power control devices certified by the Systemwalker Enabled as the power control software.
Specifies the IP address of the UPS connected to the control target host specified in Target Host Name.
Necessary Actions when Other (PowerControl for Systemwalker) is Selected
When Other (PowerControl for Systemwalker) is selected in Power Control Software, take the following actions for the linked commands (MpStpSv, MpStrSv).
Install the linked commands (MpStpSv, MpStrSv) to the directory specified as the path of the system environment variables.

If you select any software product that has not been installed as the power control software, the power control will not be performed properly.
