Points to check
Was an IP address specified as the destination?
Action method
An IP address cannot be specified as the destination. Specify a user name, computer name, or domain name.
Action 2
Points to check
From the command prompt, use the NET SEND command to check if a pop-up message is displayed at the destination.
Action method
The Microsoft Messenger Service function is used to display pop-up messages. Pop-up messages of the Action Execution function are not notified to machines that cannot be notified using the NET SEND command.
If the Messenger Service is not running, then it must be started.
Action 3
Points to check
Was a computer connected via a WAN connection specified as the destination?
Action method
If the computer is connected via a WAN, a timeout may occur in the host name search, and the pop-up message may not be displayed. Do not specify a computer connected to using a WAN connection.
Action 4
Points to check
Is it possible to communicate with the destination?
Action method
Ensure that it is possible to communicate with the destination, and then execute the pop-up message action.
If the pop-up message is not notified after confirming this, execute the Windows(R) "NET SEND" command and then confirm that an environment that can notify pop-up messages has been prepared.
Note
In the following cases, note that the action will end normally even though there is no pop-up message notification:
A computer that has not been started up yet or with an unregistered name was specified as the destination.
Communication was abnormal (for example, the LAN cable was not connected).
