6.2.3 When Terminating Jobs that Have Been Running for a Certain Amount of Time

Jobs can be terminated after a certain amount of time has elapsed using one of the following two methods:

  1. Configure Cut-off execution time when registering a job

Use this method to monitor the elapsed time of specific jobs, and then terminate those jobs, or to configure detailed specifications for the maximum elapsed time for a particular job and its subsequent termination

  2. Configure limit for job elapsed time for a queue

Use this method to collectively terminate all jobs, rather than a specific job, according to the job elapsed time

Use both "a." and "b." above to monitor all jobs for a uniform elapsed time, and then terminate, as well as to make detailed specifications for the maximum planned execution time of individual jobs and their subsequent terminations.

If both methods are used, the jobs will terminate at the time specified in Cut-off execution time when the jobs were registered. If this setting has been omitted, the jobs will terminate at the time specified in limit for job elapsed time for the queue.

If specifying Estimated processing time when registering a job, note that the value entered must be less than the value of limit for job elapsed time for the queue.

If the value specified for Estimated processing time when registering a job is greater than the value of limit for job elapsed time for the queue, the Estimated processing time specification will be ignored.
