The upper limit of Tier pools managed by the Automated Storage Tiering is as follows:
Total capacity and maximum number of Tier pools creatable per device
The upper limit is displayed in "Table G.1 Upper limit of Tier pools per storage device".
Storage device | Total capacity of Tier pools per storage device (*1) | Max. number of creatable Tier pools per storage device |
---|---|---|
ETERNUS DX80 S2/DX90 S2 | 128TB | 30 |
ETERNUS DX410 S2 | 384TB | 60 |
ETERNUS DX440 S2 | 768TB | 64 |
ETERNUS DX8000 S2 series | 1024TB | 64 |
ETERNUS DX100 S3/DX200 S3 | 128TB | 30 |
ETERNUS DX500 S3 | 384TB | 60 |
ETERNUS DX600 S3 | 768TB | 64 |
*1: Value including the capacity of Thin Provisioning Pool
Total capacity of Tier pools manageable by ETERNUS SF Manager
It is 1024TB regardless of the number of managed storage devices.
Total capacity of Tier pools that can be simultaneously evaluated by ETERNUS SF Manager
The total capacity of Tier pools whose access status data can be evaluated in the same period of time is displayed in "Table G.2 Total capacity of simultaneously evaluable Tier pools".
For example, if a 512TB Tier pool of ETERNUS DX600 S3 and a 384TB Tier pool of ETERNUS DX500 S3 coexist, it is necessary to set so that the evaluation time of each Tier pool may not be overlapped. However, access status data can be simultaneously collected.
Configuration of evaluated Tier pools | Total capacity of simultaneously evaluable Tier pools |
---|---|
ETERNUS DX100 S3/DX200 S3/DX500 S3/DX600 S3 Tier pools exist | 768TB |
Other than those above | 1024TB |
