7.3 Tasks to perform on the Operation Management Client

The procedure for upgrading an Operation Management Client is described below.

Note that the upgrading an Operation Management Client is on Windows machine.

Required privileges

The user must have the privileges of a member of the Administrators group.


Procedure

The procedure is as follows:

  1. Performing an upgrade installation of an Operation Management Client

    Start installing the Operation Management Client in the same way as for the initial installation, as described in "3.1.3 Installing an Operation Management Client".


  2. Setting up the communications environment

    If you used either Microsoft(R) Internet Information Services 6 or Microsoft(R) Internet Information Services 7 as the communication environment for the Operation Management Client, run the following command:

    Run the command after moving the current directory to <Installation directory>\bin.

    On Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, and Windows 7 it is necessary to run these commands under an account with administrator privileges. To do so, from the Start menu, select All Programs, Accessories, then right-click Command Prompt and select Run as administrator. Now run the commands described below in the command prompt that appears.

    Point

    If the CGI of the Operation Management Client is already registered with Microsoft(R) Internet Information Services, the following error message may be output.

    "* appcmd.exe C:\Program Files\SystemwalkerSQC-C\www\cgi-bin\Rep_mk_history.cgi Failed."
    ERROR ( message:New add object missing required attributes. Cannot add duplicate collection entry of type 'add' with unique key attribute 'path' set to 'C:\Program Files\SystemwalkerSQC-C\www\cgi-bin\rmmperform.cgi'. )

  3. Upgrading from V11 or V12

    If upgrading from V11 or V12, execute following procedure. If upgrading from V13, execution is not required.

    1. Execute the Operation Management Client Upgrade command

      Execute the following command after the Manager has been installed and started:

      C:\Program Files\SystemwalkerSQC-C\bin\sqcv13shift.exe

      Example

      C:\Program Files\SystemwalkerSQC-C\bin>sqcv13shift.exe

      Sqcv13shift succeeded.


    2. Obtain Agent and Proxy Manager configuration information again

      Obtain the configuration information of the Agent and Proxy Manager again.

      Refer to "Management configuration definition (ConfigurationSettings)" in the User's Guide (Console) for details.

    Note

    If regular reports were being generated in V12, it will be necessary to change the information registered with the scheduler.

    In this version, a new mandatory option, "-c console_define", has been added to the scheduled report creation command and the scheduled report deletion command. Because this option cannot be omitted, it must be added when upgrading from V12.

    Refer to "Scheduled Report Operation Commands" in the Reference Guide for details.


  4. Migration of the registered report created under the V13.5.0 and earlier

    Reports created under the V13.5.0 and earlier (On-demand Report when V13.3 and earlier, and Analysis when V13.4/V13.5) can migrate. If migrated, reports are displayed as "Migration Report" category in the "My category" of the "Analysis/Planning" screen.

    Install Direcory\bin\sqcMigrationReports.bat -c console_define

    Refer to the "sqcMigrationReports.bat (Migration Command for Registered Report) for detail about the command.

Note

Report which created by On-demand Report or Analysis under V13.5.0 and earlier are displayed as "Registered Name" in the "Report Name" column in the history display of the console.

Report which registered in the Scheduled Report and created under V13.5.0 and earlier are displayed as "Registered Name" in the "Report Name" column in the Scheduled Report List display.

Report which created after upgrade to V15.0 is displayed as "Registered Name" in the "Report Name" column. To display "Report Name" in the "Report Name" column, select registered report in the "Scheduled Report Registration View" of the "Setting View" and "Replace Registration".

Note that report name which created before overwrite save in the "Report Name" column is stay as "Registered Name", and cannot change.
