4.1.7 Calling the Filter Command
The XL-DATA/MV daemon/service is equipped with a user creation program called the "filter command", which is used for filtering the transfer data.
To use this function, specify it as an environment parameter when executing the transfer command.
Note that the full path name of the filter command must be specified.
Refer to the section on the "Transfer Command Reference" for the environment variables to use when executing the transfer command.
The filter command can also executed on the client system of the XL-DATA/MV.
In that case, the command can be executed by combining the shell function and the transfer command options.
For instructions on how to specify the transfer command, refer to the section "Using the Filter Command on the Client System" later in this chapter.
The filter commands can be created by users for various purposes.

- Calling the code conversion program
- Routing necessary records
