7.2 Restoring Express Manager Environment

If any failure occurs in the Management server, take the following procedure to restore Management server environment. All operations are performed on the Management server.

About description in the procedure

  • $BAK_DIR means a backup destination directory.

  • $INS_DIR means a directory in which ETERNUS Express Manager is installed.

  1. Install Express Manager.

    Refer to the "C.1 Installing" to reinstall Express Manager.

  2. Stop the services.

    Open Service Control Manager to stop the following four services.

    • ETERNUS SF Express Manager

    • ETERNUS SF Express Apache Service

    • ETERNUS SF Express Tomcat Service

    • ETERNUS SF Storage Cruiser Manager

  3. Restore various settings information.

    Using Explorer, create the following directories, if they do not exist.

    • $INS_DIR\Express\Manager\etc

    • $INS_DIR\Express\Manager\etc\db

    Copy the subdirectories and files in the following backup source directory to the backup destination directory.

    Source directory

    Destination directory

    $BAK_DIR\Express\Manager\etc\db

    $INS_DIR\Express\Manager\etc\db

    Copy the following file from the backup source to the restore destination directory.

    Destination directory

    $BAK_DIR\Express\Manager\etc\express_manager.ini

    $INS_DIR\Express\Manager\etc

  4. Restore the management information for disk storage system.

    By using Explorer, delete the subdirectories and files in the restore destination directory shown below.

    Do not delete the restore destination directory itself. If that directory does not exist, create it.

    • $INS_DIR\Storage Cruiser\Manager\var\opt\FJSVssmgr\current\opencimom\logr

    By using Explorer, delete the file in the restore desitination directory shown below.

    • $INS_DIR\Storage Cruiser\Manager\etc\opt\FJSVssmgr\current\sanma.conf

    Copy the subdirectories and files in the following backup source directory to the restore destination directory.

    Destination directory

    $BAK_DIR\Storage Cruiser\Manager\var\opt\FJSVssmgr\current\opencimom\logr

    $INS_DIR\Storage Cruiser\Manager\var\opt\FJSVssmgr\current\opencimom\logr

    Copy the following file from the backup source to the restore destination directory.

    $BAK_DIR\Storage Cruiser\Manager\etc\opt\FJSVssmgr\current\sanma.conf

    $INS_DIR\Storage Cruiser\Manager\etc\opt\FJSVssmgr\current

  5. Restore essential files.

    By using Explorer, delete the subdirectories and files in the restore destination directories shown below.

    Do not delete the restore destination directories themselves. If these directories do not exist, create them.

    • $INS_DIR\Storage Cruiser\Manager\etc\opt\FJSVtrccb\2.0

    • $INS_DIR\Storage Cruiser\Manager\var\opt\FJSVtrccb\2.0\ac

    • $INS_DIR\Storage Cruiser\Manager\var\opt\FJSVtrccb\2.0\db

    • $INS_DIR\Storage Cruiser\Manager\var\opt\FJSVtrccb\2.0\sr

    • $INS_DIR\Storage Cruiser\Manager\var\opt\FJSVssmgr\current\vsccompose

    Delete the following file.

    • $INS_DIR\Storage Cruiser\Manager\var\opt\FJSVssmgr\current\systemevent.csv

    Copy the subdirectories and files in the following backup source directories to the restore destination directories.

    If no subdirectory or file exists, restore is unneeded.

    $BAK_DIR\Storage Cruiser\Manager\var\opt\FJSVtrccb\2.0\sr

    $INS_DIR\Storage Cruiser\Manager\var\opt\FJSVtrccb\2.0\sr

    $BAK_DIR\Storage Cruiser\Manager\var\opt\FJSVssmgr\current\vsccompose

    $INS_DIR\Storage Cruiser\Manager\var\opt\FJSVssmgr\current\vsccompose

    Copy the following file from the backup source to the restore destination directory.

  6. Restore files that are related to the performance management function.

    If you are not using the performance management function, this step is unnecessary.

    By using Explorer, delete the subdirectories and files in the restore destination directory shown below.

    Do not delete the restore destination directory itself. If that restore destination directory does not exist, create it.

    • $INS_DIR\Storage Cruiser\Manager\var\opt\FJSVssmgr\current\perf

    Copy the subdirectories and files in the following directory from the backup source to the restore destination directory.

    Destination directory

    $BAK_DIR\Storage Cruiser\Manager\var\opt\FJSVssmgr\current\perf

    $INS_DIR\Storage Cruiser\Manager\var\opt\FJSVssmgr\current\perf

  7. If Advanced Copy function is used, restore the files associated with definition of copy group and copy pair.

    By using Explorer, delete the subdirectories and files in the restore destination directories shown below.

    Do not delete the restore destination directories themselves. If these directories do not exist, create them.

    • Subdirectories and files other than "cg" directory under $INS_DIR\AdvancedCopy Manager Copy Control Module\etc\db

    • $INS_DIR\AdvancedCopy Manager Copy Control Module\etc\db\cg

    • $INS_DIR\AdvancedCopy Manager Copy Control Module\var\micc\database

    Delete following files only if it exists. Do not delete directories.

    • $INS_DIR\AdvancedCopy Manager Copy Control Module\etc\prop\user.properties

    • $INS_DIR\AdvancedCopy Manager Copy Control Module\etc\stxc.alias

    • $INS_DIR\AdvancedCopy Manager Copy Control Module\etc\stxcvolinf

    Copy the following files from the backup source to the restore destination directories.

    If it exists, copy the following files from the backup source to the restore destination directories.

    Copy the subdirectories and files in the following backup source directory to the restore destination directory.

  8. If the license information was being registered, restore the files about the definition of the license information.

    Copy the subdirectories and files in the following backup source directory to the restore destination directory.

    $INS_DIR\License Manager\var

  9. Restart the service.

    Open Service Control Manager to start the following four services.

    • ETERNUS SF Express Manager

    • ETERNUS SF Express Apache Service

    • ETERNUS SF Express Tomcat Service

    • ETERNUS SF Storage Cruiser Manager
