7.1 Backing up Express Manager Environment

It is required to back up Express Manager environment against failures in a server on which Express Manager is installed.
Take the following procedure to back up Express Manager environment.
All operations are performed on the Management server.

About description in the procedure

  • $BAK_DIR means a backup destination directory.

  • $INS_DIR means a directory in which Express Manager is installed.

  1. Stop services.

    Open Service Control Manager to stop the following four services.

    • ETERNUS SF Express Manager

    • ETERNUS SF Express Apache Service

    • ETERNUS SF Express Tomcat Service

    • ETERNUS SF Storage Cruiser Manager

  2. Back up various settings information.

    Using Explorer, create the following backup directories:

    • $BAK_DIR\Express\Manager\etc

    • $BAK_DIR\Express\Manager\etc\db

    Copy the subdirectories and files in the following source directory to the backup destination directory.

    Destination directory

    $INS_DIR\Express\Manager\etc\db

    $BAK_DIR\Express\Manager\etc\db

    Copy the following backup source file to the backup destination directory.

    Source file

    Destination directory

    $INS_DIR\Express\Manager\etc\express_manager.ini

    $BAK_DIR\Express\Manager\etc

  3. Back up the management information for disk storage system.

    Using Explorer, create the following backup directory:

    • $BAK_DIR\Storage Cruiser\Manager\etc\opt\FJSVssmgr\current

    • $BAK_DIR\Storage Cruiser\Manager\var\opt\FJSVssmgr\current\opencimom\logr

    Copy the subdirectories and files in the following source directory to the backup destination directory.

    Destination directory

    $INS_DIR\Storage Cruiser\Manager\var\opt\FJSVssmgr\current\opencimom\logr

    $BAK_DIR\Storage Cruiser\Manager\var\opt\FJSVssmgr\current\opencimom\logr

    Copy the following backup source file to the backup destination directory.

    $INS_DIR\Storage Cruiser\Manager\etc\opt\FJSVssmgr\current\sanma.conf

    $BAK_DIR\Storage Cruiser\Manager\etc\opt\FJSVssmgr\current

  4. Back up essential files.

    Using Explorer, create the following backup directories.

    • $BAK_DIR\Storage Cruiser\Manager\etc\opt\FJSVtrccb\2.0

    • $BAK_DIR\Storage Cruiser\Manager\var\opt\FJSVtrccb\2.0\ac

    • $BAK_DIR\Storage Cruiser\Manager\var\opt\FJSVtrccb\2.0\db

    • $BAK_DIR\Storage Cruiser\Manager\var\opt\FJSVtrccb\2.0\sr

    • $BAK_DIR\Storage Cruiser\Manager\var\opt\FJSVssmgr\current

    • $BAK_DIR\Storage Cruiser\Manager\var\opt\FJSVssmgr\current\vsccompose

    Copy the subdirectories and files in the following source directories to the backup destination directories
    If any subdirectory or file does not exist, backup is not needed.

    Copy the following backup source file to the backup destination directory.

    $BAK_DIR\Storage Cruiser\Manager\var\opt\FJSVssmgr\current

  5. Back up files that are related to the performance management function.

    If you are using the performance management function, this step is unnecessary.

    Using Explorer, create the following backup directory.

    • $BAK_DIR\Storage Cruiser\Manager\var\opt\FJSVssmgr\current\perf

    Copy the subdirectories and files in the following source directory to the backup destination directory.

    $INS_DIR\Storage Cruiser\Manager\var\opt\FJSVssmgr\current\perf

    $BAK_DIR\Storage Cruiser\Manager\var\opt\FJSVssmgr\current\perf

  6. If Advanced Copy function is used, back up the files associated with definition of copy group and copy pair.

    Using Explorer, create the following backup directories.

    • $BAK_DIR\AdvancedCopy Manager Copy Control Module\etc

    • $BAK_DIR\AdvancedCopy Manager Copy Control Module\etc\db

    • $BAK_DIR\AdvancedCopy Manager Copy Control Module\etc\db\cg

    • $BAK_DIR\AdvancedCopy Manager Copy Control Module\etc\prop

    • $BAK_DIR\AdvancedCopy Manager Copy Control Module\var\micc\database

    Copy the following backup source files to the backup destination directory.

    $INS_DIR\AdvancedCopy Manager Copy Control Module\etc\db\eternus.xml

    $BAK_DIR\AdvancedCopy Manager Copy Control Module\etc\db

    If it exists, copy the following backup source files to the backup destination directory.

  7. If the license information was being registered, save files about the definition of the license information.

    Using Explorer, create the following backup directory:

    • $BAK_DIR\License Manager\var

    Copy the Source the subdirectories and files in the following backup source directory to the backup destination directory.

    $INS_DIR\License Manager\var

    $BAK_DIR\License Manager\var

  8. Restart the services

    Open Service Control Manager to start the following four services.

    • ETERNUS SF Express Manager

    • ETERNUS SF Express Apache Service

    • ETERNUS SF Express Tomcat Service

    • ETERNUS SF Storage Cruiser Manager
