This appendix describes the VSC Engine codes.

Confirm that the physical disk specified in "Register Physical Disk" or "Create Virtual Disk" is correct.

See "3.4.1.1 Using the zoning function of a virtualization switch" to confirm that zoning between the virtual initiator of the virtualization switch and the storage is correct. Make sure that the WWN for the virtual initiator of any other virtualization switch is not registered, and that the WWN of the channel adaptor (CA) connected to the other virtualization switch is not registered.

VSC Engine attempted to perform I/O operation on the specified physical disk, but storage was not ready.

Confirm that the storage containing the physical disk specified in "Register Physical Disk" or "Create Virtual Disk" is turned on, and that the FC cable from the virtualization switch to storage is correctly connected.

When using the host table setting (affinity setting), confirm that the WWNs for the virtual initiator of the virtualization switch registered to storage and zoning are correct. (See "3.4.1.2 Using the host table settings mode of ETERNUS and GR.")

0032

The specified physical disk is storage not supported by VSC Engine.

Confirm that the physical disk specified in "Register Physical Disk" or "Create Virtual Disk" is in VSC Engine-supported storage.

VSC Engine attempted to perform I/O operation on the specified physical disk, but Busy status was returned from storage.

Busy status was returned from storage containing the physical disk specified in "Register Physical Disk" or "Create Virtual Disk".

Wait a while and retry operation.

VSC Engine detected an error in the transaction sequence.

(An attempt to manipulate the object with the specified transaction ID failed.)

VSC Engine detected a communication error while communicating with a remote VSC Engine in redundant configuration via a network.

Confirm that the virtualization switch constituting the redundant configuration is turned on. Also, check for any problems, such as disconnected Ethernet cable. Then contact your Fujitsu engineer (CE or SE).

In a redundant configuration, one VSC Engine detected that its version is inconsistent with that of the other VSC Engine.

Referring to "6.3 Collecting Data", collect investigation data about VSC Engine. Then contact your Fujitsu engineer (CE or SE).
