+Purpose

This manual explains the procedures to operate storage management of ETERNUS SF Storage Cruiser (hereinafter called ESC).

ETERNUS SF is an integrated storage system management software series provided by Fujitsu.

+Target readers

The manual is intended for operations managers who use ESC for storage management.

The procedure used for actual system configuration assumes that the reader knows the basic configuration procedure for the installation target server, storage units, and their network.

The manual that consists of 11 chapters and appendixes A to F is organized as follows:

Chapter 9 Maintenance of the Administrative Environment	This chapter explains how to maintain databases and the troubleshooting required if a problem occurs.
Chapter 10 Linkage to Other Software	This chapter explains how to link with other software.
Chapter 11 Storage Volume Configuration Navigator	This chapter explains the Storage Volume Configuration Navigator.
Appendix A Indicating Storage Device Types	This appendix explains how to indicate each component used in this manual.
Appendix B Explanation of Menus and Screens	This appendix explains client screen functions and how to operate them.
Appendix C Command References	This appendix explains how to use each command.
Appendix D Customization	This appendix explains how to customize definition files.
Appendix E Trouble shooting	This appendix explains basic troubleshooting and also provides information on where to find further help.
Appendix F Mail client function program with the Windows Version of Manager (stxsmail)	This appendix explains how to use mail client function program (henceforth stxsmail) which sends event information with bat linkage of the Windows version manager.
Storage Terms	This explains the terms used in this manual.
