Chapter 1 Operation> 1.4 Registering and Deleting Lookup Data

1.4.1 Registering Lookup Data

Lookup data refers to the director data managed by the director and to the search data distributed to each searcher.

The input used to register this lookup data is the text files that store XML documents.

The following dialog shows the flow of tasks involved in registering lookup data.

[Figure 1-2 Creating Lookup Data]

After the data is registered, always backup the director data. Refer to 3.1.2 Director Data Backup for more information on backing up director data.

Follow the procedures below to register the lookup data from the text files.

  1. On the director server, prepare the text files that store the XML document.

If there are multiple text files, join them together into one file.

Refer to Notes on XML Documents in the Application Development Guide for more information on the contents of text files.

Network drives and network paths cannot be specified for text files.
It is necessary to specify files on local disks (not including removable disks)

The Shunsaku XML conversion function can be used to create the text files that store the XML document. These files are created from the data stored in databases and CSV files, and are used as input files for importing data.
Refer to XML Conversion Function in the Application Development Guide for more information on the XML conversion function.
  2. In the navigation frame, click the director identifier.

  3. In the operations frame, click the Status tab and click then click the Refresh button. Check and record the number of records.

  4. In the operations frame, click the Data operations tab and specify each option, then click the Execute button.

The text file XML document is imported and the lookup data is registered to Shunsaku.
