*1: When adding NIC in a cluster system, see "B.4.1.1 Addition procedure" of the "PRIMEQUEST 480/440 Operation Manual" then set the virtual interface according to "5.2 Adding configuration for Cluster System".
*2: When deleting NIC in a cluster system, delete the virtual interface according to "5.4 Deleting configuration for Cluster System" then delete NIC according to "B.4.1.2 Removal procedure" of the "PRIMEQUEST 480/440 Operation Manual".
The hardware change detection tool (kudzu (1)) may be run when the system is rebooted after a NIC is added, removed, or swapped. In such cases, take appropriate action by following the steps below.
kudzu (1) displays a window for specifying whether to add device information for the added NIC to the system. From [Configure], [Ignore], and [Do Nothing], select [Configure]. Then, the "Configure TCP/IP" window for setting IP addresses is displayed. Do not enter anything in this window, and select [Back].
kudzu (1) displays a window for specifying whether to delete the device information for the removed NIC from the system. From [Remove Configuration], [Keep Configuration], and [Do Nothing], select [Remove Configuration].
Follow step 1, "If a NIC has been added," and then step 2, "If a NIC has been removed."
