esfast evaluate start - Start Automated Storage Tiering evaluation
SYNOPSIS
esfast evaluate start -name tierPoolName
COMMAND PATH
For Windows environments
$INS_DIR\AST\Manager\opt\FJSVssast\sbin\esfast evaluate start
($INS_DIR is the "Program directory" of when ETERNUS SF Manager has been installed to a new environment.)
For Solaris or Linux environments
/opt/FJSVssast/sbin/esfast evaluate start
DESCRIPTION
Start the evaluation of Automated Storage Tiering for the Tier pool.In order to execute the command, the administrator privilege of the OS is required.
OPERAND
Start the evaluation of Automated Storage Tiering.
OPTIONS
Specify the Tier pool name for which to start the evaluation of Automated Storage Tiering.
Specify a maximum of 16 characters containing one-byte alphanumeric characters, number sign (#), hyphen (-) and underscore (_) for the name.
Non-case sensitive.
Specify the Tier pool name that has been created on Web Console.
EXIT STATUS
=0: Completed successfully
>0: Terminated abnormally
EXAMPLES
For Windows environments
> C:\ETERNUS_SF\AST\Manager\opt\FJSVssast\sbin\esfast evaluate start -name TrPool1 INFO:esast9000:Command terminated normally.
For Solaris or Linux environments
# /opt/FJSVssast/sbin/esfast evaluate start -name TrPool1 INFO:esast9000:Command terminated normally.
NOTES
Before executing this command, be sure to register the ETERNUS SF Storage Cruiser Optimization Option license.
If registration has not been performed, although the execution of the command is started, migration of Tiering policies terminates in an error.
Refer to "8.5 Check of Start of ETERNUS SF Storage Cruiser Optimization Option Service/Daemon" to make sure that the service or daemon is started.
If not, the command terminates abnormally.
If this command is executed to the following Tier pools, it terminates abnormally:
Tier pool for which Automated Storage Tiering is stopped.
One layer Tier pool
Other than Tier pool whose Execution Mode in the Tiering policy is "Manual"
