6.2 Updating the Certificate File

A user created in "3.1.1 Creating the User for the Forced Stop" needs a periodical change of the client certificate (every 3 years). If you do not update the client certificate even after 3 years, the shutdown facility will not be operated.

Use caution when you issue a new client certificate from the FJcloud portal, as the client certificate file for PRIMECLUTER and private key file is no longer valid.

  1. Execute the following command on all nodes to stop the shutdown facility.

    # sdtool -e
  2. From the FJcloud portal, issue and download the new client certificate for the user for the forced stop.

At this point, the previous client certificate file for PRIMECLUSTER and private key file is no longer valid.

    See

For details on the FJcloud portal, refer to the official FUJITSU Hybrid IT Service FJcloud documentation.

  3. Recreate the client certificate file for PRIMECLUSTER and private key file from the new client certificate,

as described in "3.7.1.2.1 Distributing Client Certificates for the User for the Forced Stop".

Re-create the client certificate file for PRIMECLUSTER and private key file in the same directory with the same file name as before.

  4. Execute the following command on all nodes to start the shutdown facility.

    # sdtool -b
  5. Execute the following command on all nodes and make sure that the shutdown facility operates normally.
