The procedure for starting/stopping the SNMP Trap monitoring service of the Management Server differs depending on the protocol used with the device fault monitoring.

For OS-standard SNMP Trap Monitoring Service
Starting the SNMP Trap monitoring service
Click Control Panel > System and Security > Administrative Tools > Services to open the Services window.
Select the SNMP Trap monitoring service, and click Start.
Stopping the SNMP Trap monitoring service
Click Control Panel > System and Security > Administrative Tools > Services to open the Services window.
Select the SNMP Trap monitoring service, and click Stop.
Checking the SNMP Trap monitoring service
Click Control Panel > System and Security > Administrative Tools > Services to open the Services window.
Check that the Status column of the SNMP Trap monitoring service status is "Started".
Note
The SNMP Trap monitoring service is an OS standard service. Do not stop the SNMP Trap monitoring service unless there is a special reason, because it affects other products such as ServerView AlarmService and ServerView Resource Coordinator VE.
For ETERNUS SF SNMP Trap Monitoring Service
When ETERNUS SF SNMP Trap service is set to be used in "SNMP Trap Setting (for Windows)" in "Setup of Storage Cruiser's Manager" in the Installation and Setup Guide, the procedure for starting/stopping the ETERNUS SF SNMP Trap service is as follows.
Starting the SNMP Trap monitoring service
Click Control Panel > System and Security > Administrative Tools > Services to open the Services window.
Select the ETERNUS SF SNMP Trap Service, and click Start.
Stopping the SNMP Trap monitoring service
Note
In an environment where other software using SNMP Traps such as Systemwalker Centric Manager and ServerView Resource Orchestrator coexists on a target server, if you stop the ETERNUS SF SNMP Trap Service, other software using SNMP Traps cannot perform the fault monitoring. Make sure that even if the fault monitoring cannot be performed, no problem is caused, and perform the following procedure.
Click Control Panel > System and Security > Administrative Tools > Services to open the Services window.
Select the ETERNUS SF SNMP Trap Service, and click Stop.
Checking the SNMP Trap monitoring service
Click Control Panel > System and Security > Administrative Tools > Services to open the Services window.
Check that the Status column of the ETERNUS SF SNMP Trap Service status is "Started".
Point
If the procedure for starting/stopping services of the Management Server has already been completed according to "Starting and Stopping Services" in the AdvancedCopy Manager Operation Guide (for Windows), it is not necessary to perform the following procedure.
Starting the services
When the Management Server is not used for a cluster operation
If the ETERNUS Information Provider service has started, stop it from the Windows services screen.
Start the ETERNUS SF Manager services.
From the Windows services screen, start the following four services in the order shown below.
ETERNUS SF Manager Apache Service
ETERNUS SF Manager Tomcat Service
ETERNUS SF Storage Cruiser Optimization Option (Only if not already started)
AdvancedCopy Manager COM Service (Only if not already started)
To use the SNMP Trap function and the ETERNUS SF SNMP Trap service, start the ETERNUS SF SNMP Trap service from the Windows services screen.
To use the ETERNUS VASA Provider function, start the ETERNUS Information Provider service from the Windows services screen.
When the Management Server is used for a cluster operation
Start the ETERNUS SF Manager services.
Use the Failover Cluster Manager to start the transactions of ETERNUS SF Manager.
To use the SNMP Trap function and the ETERNUS SF SNMP Trap service, start the ETERNUS SF SNMP Trap service from the Windows services screen.
Stopping the services
When the Management Server is not used for a cluster operation
If the ETERNUS VASA Provider function is used, stop the ETERNUS Information Provider service from the Windows services screen.
Stop the ETERNUS SF Manager services.
From the Windows services screen, stop the following five services in the order shown below.

ETERNUS SF Manager Tomcat Service
ETERNUS SF Manager Postgres Service
ETERNUS SF Storage Cruiser Optimization Option
AdvancedCopy Manager COM Service
If the SNMP Trap function and the ETERNUS SF SNMP Trap service are used, stop the ETERNUS SF SNMP Trap service from the Windows services screen.
When the Management Server is used for a cluster operation
Stop the ETERNUS SF Manager services.
