SNMPv1
The SNMPv1 communication between the Manager and the managed device is authenticated using the SNMP community. Specify the SNMP community name when registering the device. The defaults for the managed device's SNMP Community names are as follows:
Transmission Destination Device | Default | Access | Method of Settings |
---|---|---|---|
Brocade Fibre Channel switch | public | read | Refer to "4.2.1.1 Setting" for detailed settings. |
private | read/write | ||
VDX series | public | read | Refer to "4.2.3.1.1 Setting" for detailed settings. |
ETERNUS DX series | public | read | Refer to "4.3.1.1 Setting" for detailed settings. |
Information
The SNMP Community name can be changed with Web Console.
SNMPv3
The SNMPv3 communication between the Manager and the managed devices is authenticated using the SNMP Engine ID and SNMPv3 user information that is set on the managed device. SNMPv3 user information for MIB access and for receiving SNMP Traps is available (as well as a combined usage). The SNMPv3 user information must be registered from Web Console before registering the device. Refer to the "Display/Add/Change/Delete SNMPv3 User Configuration" in the Web Console Guide for information on how to register from Web Console.
The SNMP Engine ID is automatically retrieved by the product when registering the device.
The authentication protocols that can be used with the product are as follows. Set the managed devices for the devices that can be managed by this product using SNMPv3 within the range of the authentication protocol.
Function | Supported Range |
---|---|
Authentication | Enable, Disable |
Authentication protocol | MD5, SHA |
Privacy | Enable, Disable |
Privacy protocol | DES, AES, 3DES, AES192, AES256 |
One user (esfagent) is registered for the user information for SNMPv3 on the server node.
The default values of the esfagent user are as follows.
Function | Default Values of esfagent User |
---|---|
Authentication | Disabled |
Authentication protocol | - |
Privacy | Disabled |
Privacy protocol | - |
Change the authentication method from Web Console based on the operation. Refer to "Display/Add/Change/Delete SNMPv3 User Configuration" in the Web Console Guide for information on how to make changes from Web Console.
When using a different authentication protocol for each server node, newly add new SNMPv3 user information.
Note
Double quotations (") and single quotations (') cannot be used in user names, authentication passwords, and privacy passwords that are specified when registering SNMPv3 user information.
