8.1.5 In Case of Problem During Upgrade of AdvancedCopy Manager's Agent (for Solaris, Linux)

The system can be restore to the same status as Upgrade Installation completed normally.

For the server on which Upgrade Installation failed, perform the following actions.
For cluster environments, take the following procedure for the node on which Upgrade Installation failed, which is not necessary for the node on which Upgrade Installation succeeded:

Point

For non-cluster environments, recheck the following matters before performing the actions:

  • AdvancedCopy Manager communication daemon should be stopped.

  • The user should be a root user.

For cluster environments, in addition to non-cluster environments, recheck the following matters before performing the actions:

  • On all the nodes for which Upgrade Installation is done, the Managed Server transactions should be stopped.

  • On the primary node for which Upgrade Installation is done, the shared disk for shared data of Managed Server transactions should be mounted.

  1. Resolve any problems of installation failure.

  2. Login to the server on which to perform the tasks. Perform operations after logging in with root (superuser).

  3. Execute the following command to uninstall the previous version.

    # /opt/swstorage/setup/stg/swunsetup

    Information

    • After executing the swunsetup command, when reinstalling AdvancedCopy Manager's agent in other directory, make sure that the directory of the package listed in "Program Components of AdvancedCopy Manager's Agent" in this version of the Installation and Setup Guide is not left.

    • Even if the swunsetup command is executed, the directory of the package listed in "Program Components of AdvancedCopy Manager's Agent" in this version of the Installation and Setup Guide may not be removed. If not needed, delete the remaining directory manually.

  4. Newly install this version of the AdvancedCopy Manager's agent from the DVD media.
However, on completion of installation, the AdvancedCopy Manager's agent setup is unnecessary.

  5. Restore the environment in which the previous version was used.

Take the following procedure to restore the previous version:

    1. Insert the DVD "ETERNUS SF SC/ACM/Express Mediapack (V16.9 or higher) Agent Program and Manual" of this version into the DVD drive.
If already inserted, this step is unnecessary.

    2. Mount the DVD media.
If already mounted, this step is unnecessary.

    3. Execute the following shell scripts in the DVD media, to restore the previous version.

      • For the Solaris Agent

        # dvdMountPoint/Agent_unix/AdvancedCopy_Manager/Solaris/esfacmapostinst.sh backupDir
      • For the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 Agent

        # dvdMountPoint/Agent_unix/AdvancedCopy_Manager/rhel8_x64/esfacmapostinst.sh backupDir
      • For the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 Agent

        # dvdMountPoint/Agent_unix/AdvancedCopy_Manager/rhel7_x86/esfacmapostinst.sh backupDir
      • For the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 Agent

        # dvdMountPoint/Agent_unix/AdvancedCopy_Manager/rhel6_x86/esfacmapostinst.sh backupDir
      • For the SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 15 Agent

        # dvdMountPoint/Agent_unix/AdvancedCopy_Manager/sles15_x64/esfacmapostinst.sh backupDir
      • For the SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 Agent

        # dvdMountPoint/Agent_unix/AdvancedCopy_Manager/sles12_x64/esfacmapostinst.sh backupDir

For backupDir, specify the directory in which backup data is stored with the absolute path.

If restore should fail, check the output error message and resolve any problems of failure. After that, rerun the shell scripts.

    4. Unmount the DVD media.

    5. Eject the DVD media.

  6. For cluster environments, restore the "AdvancedCopy Manager daemon start/stop script" for the Managed Server transactions.

Restore the "AdvancedCopy Manager daemon start/stop script" for the Managed Server transactions, which was backed up prior to Upgrade Installation, to the same directory as prior to backup.

This is the end of the actions in case of problem during upgrade.
Continue the Upgrade Installation. Take the following procedure:
