If a large number of access paths are allocated to the target volumes of the Reporting function or the target volumes are configured with a large number of disks (when the value obtained from the following formula exceeds 1 million: "Number of access paths" * "Number of volumes" * "Number of disks"), adding memory to the Management Server and setting the memory to ETERNUS SF Manager are required.
To estimate the memory required to add to the Management Server, refer to "Estimating the Memory Size to Add When Using a Large Number of Access Paths and Disks".
To set memory to ETERNUS SF Manager, refer to "Memory Settings When Using the Reporting Function".
Estimating the Memory Size to Add When Using a Large Number of Access Paths and Disks
Use the following formula to obtain the memory size to add in addition to the memory size described in "Chapter 2 Operating Environment".
If the obtained value is negative, use "0".
The memory size to add (GB) = 1.6 * number of access paths * number of volumes * number of disks / 1000000 - 1.6
If the conditions described in "Appendix I Adding Memory to ETERNUS SF Manager When Using Large Numbers of Volumes" are satisfied, add the value calculated in "I.1 Estimating Memory Size When Using Large Numbers of Volumes" to the obtained value.
Memory Settings When Using the Reporting Function
Set up the memory according to the procedure described in "I.2 Memory Settings to ETERNUS SF Manager When Using Large Numbers of Volumes".
