If the SNMP Trap transfer program is already configured in the environment, perform the procedure in "H.2 Cancellation Procedure of Configured Settings (for Microsoft Windows Server 2016 or Later Environments)" to cancel the settings and then reconfigure the settings. If the settings are reconfigured without canceling the previous settings in advance, SNMP Traps may not be transferred to the correct port.
Stop all the applications (including ETERNUS SF Manager) receiving traps.
Stop ETERNUS SF Manager.
For information on how to stop it, refer to "Starting and Stopping Manager" in the Storage Cruiser Operation Guide. Also, stop the SNMP Trap monitoring service/daemon, too.
If Systemwalker Centric Manager coexists, execute the "pcentricmgr" command to stop Systemwalker Centric Manager. Refer to the Systemwalker Centric Manager manuals for information on the command.
If applications using the OS standard SNMP Trap service/daemon coexist, stop them. For information on how to stop them, refer to their respective application manuals.
Also, stop the OS standard SNMP Trap service/daemon, too.
Edit the %SystemRoot%\system32\drivers\etc\services file to change the port numbers used for applications using SNMP Traps.
Change the port number used for ETERNUS SF Manager.
Edit the port number in the following line to your desired port number.
If this line is not listed, add the whole line.
escwksttr-trap 28162/udp
Define the port number used by the SNMP Trap transfer program to transfer the SNMP Traps in the SNMP Trap transfer definition file. For information on how to define port numbers, refer to "H.5.1 SNMP Trap Transfer Definition File".
For ETERNUS SF Manager, specify "28162".
If Systemwalker Centric Manager coexists, specify "49162".
If applications using the OS standard SNMP Trap service/daemon coexist, specify "5972".
Execute the "MpSttrSet" command with system administration privileges to set the SNMP Trap transfer program.
> $TPF_DIR\MpSttr\bin\MpSttrSet.exe setup
Execute the "MpSttrCtrl" command with system administration privileges to start the SNMP Trap transfer program.
> $TPF_DIR\MpSttr\bin\MpSttrCtrl.exe start
Note
After the SNMP Trap transfer program is configured, the program is started automatically when the OS is started.
To change the SNMP Trap reception port of Systemwalker Centric Manager from "49162/udp", perform the following procedure.
Open the %SystemRoot%\system32\drivers\etc\services file.
Change the port number described in the following line to the desired port number. If the line does not exist, add the line.
mpwksttr-trap xxxxxx/udp
If the SNMP Trap transfer definition file is edited while the ETERNUS SF system is running, be sure to execute the "MpSttrCtrl" command with system administrator privileges and restart the program after the file has been edited.
To add a local IP address after the SNMP Trap transfer program is started, define the local IP address to be added in the SNMP Trap transfer local IP address definition file. For information on how to define a local IP address, refer to "H.5.2 SNMP Trap Transfer Local IP Address Definition File".
If the SNMP Trap transfer local IP address definition file is edited while the ETERNUS SF system is running, be sure to execute the "MpSttrCtrl" command with system administrator privileges and restart the program after the file has been edited.
Start all the applications (including ETERNUS SF Manager) receiving traps.
Start ETERNUS SF Manager.
For information on how to start it, refer to "Starting and Stopping Manager" in the Storage Cruiser Operation Guide. Also, start the SNMP Trap monitoring service/daemon, too.
